Ministries & Activities

There are a number of  ’ministries’ & activities at Milford Baptist Church.

Most activities welcome new participants.  Please contact the Church Office for details.

Children and Families:

  • MUSIC FOR ME. Music and movement for pre-schoolers. 10am on Mondays.  Resumes 13 Feb 2012
  • GIRLS BRIGADE. Monday evenings 6pm.  Resumes 13 Feb 2012
  • MILFORD BAPTIST KINDERGARTEN.  Redevelopment  project in train. Kindergarten will meet in the church hall from Feb 2012 until the new premises open.

Small groups: At Milford Baptist we place a big emphasis on ‘small groups’.  They are essential to the Christian life and essential for the achievement of our mission as a church.

  • EMMAUS HOME GROUP. Tuesday 7.30pm.   Contact Don Comber
  • INSIGHT GROUP. Tuesdays 7.15pm in the Church Lounge. Contact John Cavander. Resumes end Feb 2012
  • EXPLORERS HOME GROUP. 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings of the month.  Contact Peter McNee. Resumes 14 Feb 2012
  • FORTNIGHTLY BIBLE STUDY. Wednesdays. Contact Di Bartlett or Thelma Underwood (Currently in recess)

Worship: We have a dedicated team who do their best to serve at the Sunday service each week. However, we always have room for new people as Sound Operators, Musicians, Data Projector Operators

Activities for Adults:

  • BORN AGAIN BODIES. Monday 3pm – 4pm in the Hall. Weight bearing exercise is good for the bones and re-activating muscles. You can re-strengthen weak muscles and live more actively. Contact: Di Bartlett. Resumes 13 Feb 2012.
  • CRAFT. Tuesday 9.30am.  Come, look, and be inspired!  Resumes 7 Feb 2012.
  • MATURE MEN. Tea, coffee and discussion once a month. Normally at a cafe in Milford on a Tuesday Afternoon. Mature men of any age welcome.  Contact person: Stuart Gaze.
  • THURSDAY BARTLETTICS. 4.15pm – 5.15pm. Easing back into fitness and flexibility. Contact person Di Bartlett.  Resumes in February. Contact church office for the date.

Regular Activities:

  • PRAYER BREAKFAST:  Saturdays at 7.30am (breakfast) 8am (prayer meeting). Resumes 4 Feb 2012.
  • PRE-SERVICE PRAYER: 9.45am in the creche
  • COMMUNION SERVICES: First Sunday of the month 10am
  • NORTH SHORE HOSPITAL: A team from the church lead chapel worship on the fifth Sunday of the month. Next service 29 January 2012. Contact Larry Robbins if you would like to assist.
