Missions Sunday 2015.
Today we welcomed five mission agencies with whom our church partners and invited them to come and share an update of their ministry. Each of these five agencies has a different mission focus: Mercy Ships; Prison Fellowship; Churches Education Commission; Hospital Chaplaincy; Tranzsend. Frank Corin introduces each speaker.

Five Mission Organisations Report

During our centenary year, the church committed to contribute $10000 to each of 5 Mission organisations. This Sunday, we invited those organisations to report on the projects supported. Peter McNee introduces each of the speakers.

SIM, Sean Marston, Youth and young adult consultant. Our gift of $10,000 will be used to fund Theological education scholarship for the emerging church leaders of  the Ethiopia Evangelical Church. In Ethiopia.

 

Pioneers, Jamie Wood, National Director and Dr Sharon Brandon . Our gift of $10,000 will be used to fund a medical programme in Rumginae PNG one of the last remaining mission hospital in PNG. Dr Sharon Brandon a New Zealander is providing medical services to the tribal people of the area much still in jungle.

 

 HCJB, Peter Penfold HCJB Australia. Our gift of $10,000 will help fund the making of Christian Radio programmes in India and broadcasting them from Australia into India.

 

Operation Mobilization, Stephen Brandon, National director. Our gift of $10,000  will help fund a “ The House of Promise,”  a shelter programme for the children of temple prostitutes in Hyderabad India to prevent the young girls from being dedicated to the sex trade. In the last 2 years the project has rescued 2400 girls.

 

Mercy Ships, Sharon Walls, Communications Manager. Our gift of $10,000 will help support 3 New Zealanders working on the ship in Congo now and will help fund a women’s health programme run from the ship.
